After a summertime hiatus, Esso Poetry Open Mic returns! Sign-ups start around 4:45 p.m., and the open mic starts at 5 p.m. Readers have 5 minutes each. We're coming back with a bang, featuring one of the Valley's most talented poets and performers, Lauren Perry! Join us for an incredible evening of poetry. Hosted by Russ Kazmierczak, Jr. Here's Lauren's bio: 2002 was a year of reconception and rebirth. Lauren Perry traded her life in the center of the United States for air space in the Southwest. After her introduction into slam poetry coming out of Mesa, Arizona, she quickly adapted into the formidable performer she is today. Representing the valley as a member of seven National Poetry Slam teams, twice in the Individual World Poetry Slam, and four times as the representative for the Women of the World poetry slam competition.
